Director (Project & Planning)

Shri.D.Radhakrishna Reddy, Director (Project & Planning) is responsible for overall Planning and implementation of the Project including Design and execution of the Civil engineering works of Elevated Sections & Underground Sections and Depots.

He is a Post Graduate in Civil Engineering and belongs to 1987 Batch of IRSE Cadre of Indian Railways. He served in Indian Railways in various capacities for a period of 20 years till 2009 when he was Chief Engineer in East Central Railway. He was involved in various Railway Construction Projects, notable among them being Conversion 3 lines of very busy Meter Gauge Suburban Section between Chennai Beach and Tambarar in Southern Railway to Broad Gauge in four stages with least inconvenience to the Suburban Rail commuters, Gauge Conversion of Harihar to Havery Section of Bangalore Hubli line in South Western Railway and laying of New BG Railway line from Chengalpet to Villupuram in Southern Railway. He also worked as the head of Civil Engineering Department in Chennai and Hyderabad divisions responsible for maintenance of the Railway Tracks, Bridges and Buildings.

He has a long experience of 10 years in implementation of Metro Rail Projects since 2009 in BMRCL and DMRC. As the Project Manager for Phase-1 of BMRCL, he completed and commissioned 21 km of Elevated Metro section with 19 Stations in Reaches 2, 3,3A & 3B and Peenya Depot. He was responsible for Interface management for all these sections and Ballast less Track installation works on Elevated and Underground sections and Ballasted track in the Depot. He worked as the Project Director for Vijaywada Metro project under DMRC and completed all the preliminary works such as preparation of DPR, Tender documents, Finalization of alignment and Station drawings, Tendering, Finalization of Multilateral Funding, etc. Before joining as Director (P&P), he was Executive Director in BMRCL responsible for execution of Reach 2, 3& 4 extensions & Reach-6(Elevated) of Phase-2 and ORR metro line of Phase 2A.
