img Shri N M DHOKE, Director (Rolling stock, Signalling & Electrical),BMRCL is responsible for overall planning of System Works including Depot layouts and machinery, plants etc., for the project including finalization of Technical specifications, Design and Architecture, Tendering , Contracting and overall project administration. In addition, he is also in-charge of Operation and Maintenance

He did Engineering Degree in Electrical& Power from VRCE, Nagpur in 1982 and also possesses an MA Degree in Public Administration. Hehas worked in BHEL and Indian Navy for a short period before joining IRSEE services of Indian Railways in1986 andhas nearly28 years of extensive experience of Rail Transportation in various fields such as Rolling Stock, AC/DC EMU, AC Traction and Consultancy Services

During his distinguished career in Indian Railways, hewas associated with commissioning and setting up of Traction Distribution & Rolling Stock Organization on Nagpur and Jabalpur Division of Central Railway. During his tenure at Jabalpur Division,for the first time in India, 2 x 25 kV OHE systems of Traction was introduced and successfully commissioned with the help of Japan Railway Technical Service (JARTS).As an in-charge of EMU at POH Workshop, Matunga, Central Railway (2005-2007), most notable work done during his tenure was the reviving of 56 DC EMU rakes submerged and damaged in the deluge of 2006 in Mumbai Sub-Urban within a record time of 25 days

As part of the Indian Railway delegation, he visited UK & Sweden in 2006 to study EMU maintenance facility for the implementation on Mumbai Suburban and thus was instrumental in setting up the facility for periodical overhauling of state of Art AC-DC EMU coaches at Central Railway Workshop, Matunga While working in Railways hewas honored withthe Railway Minister’sAward in the year 2002-2003for the outstanding performance

Before joining as Director (RSE), BMRCL he was associated with Phase -I of BMRCL Project for over 6 years right from the conceptual stage to the commissioning of Rolling Stock, which includespreparation of bid documents, tender evaluation, review of designs, finalization of interface issues and stage inspection of coaches under manufacturing in Hyundai-Rotem, Korea as well as BEML, India

Due to his vast experience and expertise,ShriN.M.Dhoke was instrumental inintroducing various unique design features in Bangalore Metro Rolling Stock with enhanced passenger safety such asautomatic announcement based on the bits provided by Automatic Train Control (ATC) system which has been implemented for the first time in aMetro Train in India, Power Extension facility in APS circuit, introduction of oil free air compressor ( a step towards green solutions), “ Push- back” feature in saloon door to prevent injury to the passengers, Automatic Speed Restriction in case of Bogie Isolation / Air suspension defect, etc.
